A fresh coat of paint can make the inside and outside of your home look like new. But unless it’s done right, a paint job can fade, chip, crack and peel long before you’ve gotten your money’s worth.
Wouldn’t you rather have a professional opinion before you lay out the money for the wrong color? .
“This is the second time I have hired this company to paint for us. Very neat and clean and explained everything they would do.”
Note, I have been a builder for 35 years coming from the UK and a family building business 20 years ago. This means I am skilled at everything from tiling to bricklaying to roofing. This means that if there is an additional issue of job you need doing in addition to the painting or needs doing before you can get your painting started, then I am happy to quote on this. Like my painting quotes, I am surprisingly good value at other home improvements as well.
When determining the total cost of a home’s exterior project, you’ll want to include things like the trim, a garage, foundation, windows and doors. All work is calculated by square footage and sometimes by the linear foot, such as in the case of trim. Your contractor will give you a price for the entire project unless you specifically ask for each item separately.
This company was very professional, from arriving on time, to their office staff. I’d highly highly recommend them for any job you may have!
If you’ve painted even one room in your home, you know how much work takes place before you make that first brush stroke. You need to clean the walls, patch any holes, and deal with that spot on the ceiling where water leaked last spring.
Another tip! If you’re painting textured walls, even edge lock tape won’t always do the trick! You can put the tape on the wall and then go over the edges with a thin stripe or PAINTABLE clear caulking! One part will come up with the tape, the other stays on the wall under the paint, and keeps the paint from seeping under the edge of the tape. Just remember to keep it thin so you don’t see it on the wall! Hazel February 25, 2015
Most homeowners don’t know where to start when it comes to hiring a good painter. After all, even if the color samples and the initial paint job look great, how can you be sure the contractor has the skill and experience to make your new house paint last?
Picking exterior house paint colors is a lot different than picking a color for a shirt or a car. It may help to drive around to observe colors that other homeowners have combined on homes that are of similar size and design as yours. There are also online resources that provide homeowners with the ability to create virtual makeovers of their home by combining colors together through their software programs as well. More recently, professional painters are responsible for all preparation prior to painting. All stucco or popcorn or texture scraping, sanding, wallpaper removal, caulking, drywall or wood repair, patching, stain removal, filling nail holes or any defects with plaster or putty, cleaning, taping, preparation and priming are considered to be done by the professional contracted painter. Painting your own house sounds fun since you could do it anyway you want. But I don’t think I would be able to do that though. Hope I could do that someday though 🙂 tisha February 26, 2015

“After hiring another paint company to paint the interior of my home during a recent remodel, the company abandoned the job after two days of work. Collegiate Painters came to my rescue! They picked up where the other contractor left off and made sure the work was done properly. I was very impressed with how thorough they were and made sure I was happy with everything. Great company to work with.” – Nicole L., Boulder, CO
